Freedom
From Smoking® is the American Lung Association's
official smoking cessation program. It provides thousands
of individuals relief from smoking each year, by removing
physical dependency on nicotine, while addressing the
psychological cravings and barriers you will face.
The Freedom From Smoking® program consists of working
through seven modules, each one focusing on a different
aspect of addiction and recovery.
The clinic is based on the philosophy that smoking
involves “unlearning” this negative habit,
and substituting healthy new alternatives. Several
different techniques will be presented to help individuals
accomplish this. The schedule will be as follows: Classes will run for eight weeks. Each session will
last one hour, and will cover the seven
modules set
forth by the American Lung Association®.
Quitting smoking can evoke
feelings of fear, resentment, relief, and more. We
address these concerns in a supportive
environment, and if you stay committed to the program
and complete all of the assignments, you have a greater
chance of remaining smoke-free for good. Millions of
people have quit smoking, and you can do it too!
This certified smoking cessation program is administered
by Janeill Gillikin, RN, RRT and Kim Folan, CMA. For
